Celery seed has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmodic, anti-bacterial, diuretic, carminative, galactogogue (increasing breast milk production) and uterine activity.

  • Arthritis

Cautions, Contraindications and Side Effects

  • Contraindicated in pregnancy and children
  • No side effects have been reported
  • Do not use seed sold for horticultural use. They are usually treated with fungicide.
  • Do not use with active kidney inflammation.
  • Avoid extensive exposure to sunlight, UV therapy or tanning booths whilst taking celery seed products as they may increase photosensitivity.
  • No clinically significant interactions between celery and conventional medications have been reported in the literature to date.
